Dr. Liadaki has a first degree in Biology from the Biology Department of the University of Crete, an MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology both awarded by the Department of Biology of the University of Crete. She subsequently carried on her work as a postdoc Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Biochemical Pharmacology, in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly. Her main research interests are (i) molecular mechanisms of anticancer potential of plant extracts and plant-derived compounds, especially plant secondary metabolites ii) studies of the biological effects of pesticides and their metabolites using cell culture systems, iii) studies of the signaling and mechanisms of muscle regeneration using cell culture systems, iv) molecular diagnosis of cancer and study of the molecular pathogenesis of cancer, aiming to the development of personalized therapies, v) pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics. She has authored 19 articles in peer-reviewed journals (citations 865, h-index 14, Scopus), 2 chapters in books and she has 19 publications in proceedings of national and international conferences. Dr. Liadaki has coordinated a grant funded from the Research Committee of the University of Thessaly and has participated in a Thalis grant from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an Action for the support of Plans for Research, funded from the region of Western Greece, and a RESEARCH-CREATE-INNOVATE, NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework) grant.
