Eustathios (Stathis) Lagos holds a BSc degree from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece. He completed his MSc in Applications of Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, and Diagnostic Markers at the same department. During his bachelor’s and master’s theses, his research focused on the biodegradation of organophosphorus pesticides in soil. From July 2019 to July 2023, he conducted his PhD research entitled “The Role of Soil Microorganisms in Preventing and Reducing the Environmental Impact of the Use and Dispersal of Anthelmintic Veterinary Drugs” at the Plant & Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly, under the supervision of Dr. Dimitrios Karpouzas. He is currently participating in the MINAGRIS project, a Horizon 2020 research project investigating the environmental fate and interactions of micro- and nanoplastics with soil microbial communities in agricultural soils. He has co-authored 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals (Scopus: h-index 5, 75 citations), serving as first corresponding author in seven of them, as well as six conference papers presented at national and international conferences and published in their proceedings.
